As part of my self-directed study I completed a series of posters which visualised the data of the views of some 100 people. The views expressed were concerns about living in the 21st Century and the issues we face in the society today. The posters were screen printed on ebony silver paper from GF Smith.

I produced a track which conveyed a sense of conflict between dark and light sounds. I visualised the track, marking each specific sound over the duration of the track.

I then had the track manufactured to 12” vinyl format and deigned the packaging for the product taking inspiration from the data visualisation from the music.

The outer sleeve had the visual laser cut from the sleeve as well as an inner sleeve that was screenprinted. The laser cut sleeve showed through to the silver inner sleeve giving an exciting effect, demonstrating a conflict of information and dark and light shades which strengthened the theme. Finally a supporting double-sided poster displayed information about the product, including dimensions, manufacturing details and track information.

I was approached by Bristol based musician Dave Corney, also known as “Hyetal”, to create an identity for him in the music industry. I worked closely with him to craft a unique brand and graphic which was instantly recognisable and has a strong visual relationship with his music.

Additionally I art directed a studio photoshoot with photographer Zachary Saitoti. I projected the branded graphics over Hyetal in various ways to create a number of photographs for press usage.

One of my first projects at Halo was producing an annual tourism and destination brochure for Somerset as part of a brand refresh. My main tasks included working with an online database system, using XML files and designing hundreds of classified adverts. I also helped to source and manipulate imagery used in the brochure as well as developing the design for the main editorial content.

It was the first time I had worked with an online booking system before, through this I have learnt how to import XML into InDesign documents to create adverts from a template. I also gained considerable insight into photoshop and the skill of layout for large quantities of detailed editorial copy.

Holbrook Moran is a multi-office independent sales and letting agency based in Bristol. I was tasked with refreshing the brand, giving them a relevant, but contemporary look across all their offices, collateral and sales literature. It was important that the brand was recognisable to the public, delivering a smooth transisiton from its previous incarnation as the Holbrook Moran did not want to distance the company from its heritage, but showed a more bespoke and tailored look to its original brand.
